A few words about Nostradamus

Nostradamus is the most famous clairvoyant. Even as a young boy, he was distinguished by his intelligence, quickly mastering several foreign languages as well as higher mathematics. He became famous above all for the prophecies he wrote down. He mainly describes disasters such as earthquakes, wars, plagues, floods or murders. There are no precise dates in his prophecies. The main theme of the texts is the invasion of Europe by Muslim forces under the leadership of the Antichrist. It would seem that this prophecy is covered in the present day, when Europe is being flooded by a wave of emigrants from Islamic countries. However, Nostradamus wrote these prophecies under the influence of events at the time related to the numerous conquests that the Ottoman Empire was making. Nevertheless, one must give him credit for not being wrong even on this issue despite the passage of so many years. So do Nostradamus' predictions correspond to reality? They certainly arouse huge emotions. They range from enthusiasm and declaring him the greatest genius of all time to disregarding and doubting his gift. His opponents emphasise all the time that it is easy to fit his lines into what has already happened. To be fair, one must also admit that sometimes the opposite is true. Thus, for example, in Francis X King's book published in 1993, the author claims that the current situation in the United Kingdom was dedicated by the prophet to verse 74 of Centurion VI

"She who has been rejected will return to power,
Her enemies shall be among the conspirators,
With greater glory than before she shall reign,
With three and seventy death is certain."

Four years later, Princess Diana was killed in a car accident along with three other men, while a 70 km/h speed limit sign stood in front of the tunnel where the tragedy occurred. However, the prophet's opponents claim that this prophecy can be fitted into other historical events, such as the installation of Elizabeth I to the throne.

Nostradamus devoted a large part of his writings to the theme of the apocalypse, and in writing down his centurions he often drew on the Bible. His vision of the end of the world, probably inspired by this holy book of Christianity, is terrifying:

"When those times come, it will fall to the people to murder their loved ones, their neighbours, and there will be such fear in them that when they hear the news from the world they will faint en masse.
There will be such cruel times that people will go and seek death, but will not find it. God will punish people in such a way that their bodies will rot and fall off in pieces, their eyes will rot in their eye sockets....
moreover, the world will face many disasters, hellish heat from heaven, famine, pestilence, so that they will walk and bite their tongues in pain."

It must be admitted that looking at the present world, where the vast majority see nothing but the tip of their own noses, it seems that the punishment for our present behaviour would not be too severe at all... let us remember that every time people have lived too well, disaster has followed: war, famine or epidemics. Perhaps this is also what awaits us in the near future.

Nostradamus' prophecy describing cataclysms says:

"Rome will shake and the Loire,
The earth will shake so much that a great theatre will collapse,
A great upheaval will occur in May,
A war rages near Orgon, A great calamity is seen in Rome,
Then hail will fall larger than an egg,
At the end of the Cancer era there will be a drought,
Fish in the sea and river will boil,
Defenceless and exhausted from the heat from the sky,
Fire and earthquake, flood and miserable end."

Thus the greatest misfortunes are to fall on Rome. Destruction will also reach France. Nostradamus sets May as the date of the catastrophe. The catastrophe will be followed by a famine that will undoubtedly be global in scope. According to the prophecy, the cause could be a collision between our planet and a comet. Some identify it with Halley's comet of 1986. However, the prophet accurately wrote that it was to fall on earth, not fly past it. Violent wars will eventually ensue, linked to the aforementioned aggression of Islamic states against Western Europe. Interestingly, the country that will be attacked first is France.  This country currently has the largest number of Muslims in Europe. Moreover, the government cannot cope with this 'minority', which will be the majority in a few decades. So it seems that this prophecy is coming true before our eyes.

Nostradamus is undoubtedly the most famous prophet of our time. It is obvious that such a person will have both his supporters and opponents. Both have many arguments. For a prophet to be recognised as a true clairvoyant by everyone, he would have to describe exactly with all the dates what will happen on earth. Everyone knows that this is simply impossible. Nostradamus was certainly an above-average individual endowed with many talents. One of these was intuition, through which he was certainly able to predict the future better than anyone else of his time. However, it is important to remember that we create the future ourselves and all predictions should be taken with a pinch of salt.
